The Airport Council International Europe has recognized Barcelona, Manchester, Lyon and Malta airports as the best in Europe.
On June 18th the four airports were identified as the leading airports over 400 airports in 46 countries by the group in its annual award ceremony.
Barcelona was selected as Europe’s best large airport (over 25 million passengers annually) with modern facilities including 70 new shops, 40 bars and six VIP lounges.
Britain’s Manchester airport was judged the best in the 10-25 million passenger category, with airport boss Geoff Muirhead saying that providing high quality customer service was at the heart of the airport’s strategy to become one of the best in the world.

The Emirates Airlines will debut the Airbus A380 ‘superjumbo’ at Manchester airport this autumn. The airline has launched an agents booking incentive of shopping vouchers worth £50 or £20 for every booking made in First and Business Class on the A380 until August 15, with the top selling agent getting a holiday for two to Dubai’s Atlantis, The Palm, flying business class. The A380 will operate one of the carrier’s two daily services from Manchester.
